TMCHN 2025/2026 Annual Report

August 14, 2026

The Toronto Region Maternal and Child Health Network (TMCHN) has recently finalized our 2025/26 Annual Report, highlighting our continued progress over the year, shifting from foundation building to sustained delivery, strengthened partnerships, and measurable impacts.

By working alongside hospitals and system partners across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), the TMCHN continued to develop connections with organizations and groups, improve system capacity and care delivery, and support access and patient flow across programs.

Throughout the year, our work focused on several key areas:

  • Strengthened partnerships and regional coordination by bringing together healthcare leaders through TMCHN-led committees and forums to address emerging trends, identify shared priorities, and improve cohesion across the system.
  • Advanced perinatal, neonatal, and pediatric initiatives, including addressing regional perinatal challenges (e.g., high BMI pregnancies), supporting seasonal surge planning, improving eating disorder care pathways, and expanding access to care closer to home through a new sickle cell disease shared care model.
  • Built clinical and system capacity through education, such as hosting 14 TMCHN Regional Education Rounds reaching more than 800 attendees across Ontario and an in-person Nursing Education Symposium for educators and practice leaders.
  • Enhanced performance measurement and quality improvement by expanding data access, analysis methods, and reporting for ongoing network and system monitoring and improvement.
  • Expanded and sustained governance by ensuring executive leadership representation from all Toronto hospitals within our Executive Advisory Committee and maintaining partnerships with regional and provincial forums to support alignment, provide strategic guidance, and facilitate knowledge exchange.
  • Strengthened network leadership and operational capacity by expanding the TMCHN team secretariat and maintaining multidisciplinary clinical leadership to guide advancements in regional priorities.

These milestones reflect what we’ve collectively accomplished through ongoing collaboration, shared goals, and a commitment to continuous improvement. We’re grateful to our GTA hospital and system partners, and to the individuals whose expertise, collaboration, and continued involvement made this progress possible.

Looking ahead, the TMCHN will continue to grow and build on the expertise of our partnerships to advance shared priorities, strengthen regional coordination, and improve care for pregnant individuals, children, youth, and families across the GTA.
